Project

Temple & Webster

Temple & Webster is Australia’s leading online-only retailer for furniture and homewares. Aiming to build consumer confidence in purchasing larger items like sofas online, Temple & Webster enlisted The Being Group to create a social media and PR project. The goal was to encourage trust and engagement with the brand.

Temple & Webster required captivating and memorable videos for social media, designed to cut through the noise. The Being Group developed a recruitment video and a comedic video series to launch Australia's first Chief Cushiness Officer (CCO).

CCO Recruitment Video
To overcome the challenge of buying furniture without a comfort test, Temple & Webster launched a PR initiative focused on hiring a relatable "Chief Cushiness Officer." This comfort expert would assess the brand’s furniture and categorise items accordingly. The recruitment video, featuring a humorous exchange between a talking couch named Martine and an HR representative, encouraged viewers to apply for the CCO role. Using special effects and voice-overs, the video highlighted Temple & Webster’s quirky brand character and was shot in formats optimised for Instagram and YouTube to maximise reach.

CCO Series
The 10-part social media series featured the CCO, played by Joana Sibiril, in a light-hearted, mockumentary-style role. Filmed in a handheld style to maintain an informal, engaging tone, the series followed the CCO’s playful interactions with Temple & Webster staff as she “tested” various furniture items. Inspired by shows like The Office, each episode incorporated humour, upbeat music, and fast-paced edits to showcase products. Branded graphics and intros gave the series a distinct look across social channels. The Being Group produced the first episode and provided RAW files for Temple & Webster’s in-house team to complete the series, which included additional short reviews of popular furniture items.
